Roger Yost, chief financial officer, UPMC in North Central Pa., is excited by what lies ahead as he joins the regional leadership team.
“I’ve worked in health care for most of my professional career, and these last few years have been challenging to say the least,” Yost says. “Luckily, not only does UPMC have extraordinary staff, but also a strong donor community who are making a difference in the lives of those we serve every day. We’re doing everything we can to help make our organization appealing to attract new staff and retain our current life-changers. Your donations, alongside our robust system strategy, are supporting life-changing care right here in the region.”
Yost has more than 30 years of health care experience. He most recently served as vice president of finance and UPMC Welcomes New CFO to the Region vice president of Revenue Cycle for Mount Nittany Health in State College, Pa. Prior to joining Mount Nittany Health, Yost was vice president of Decision Support for Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh. Previously, he supported finance and operations at several leading health systems on the West Coast.
Yost received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Susquehanna University. While attending Susquehanna University, he also studied Japanese at Bucknell University and spent his junior year abroad at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, during which time he had the opportunity to intern for Price Waterhouse Coopers’ Tokyo office. He went on to earn his MBA at Seattle University, Wash., and completed an executive health care leadership program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
