The Susquehanna Health Foundation Board of Directors is honored to announce the promotion of Sherry Watts, CFRE, from vice president to president of the Foundation. She brings more than 18 years of successful fundraising and leadership experience to her role.
Since 2004, Sherry has led community volunteers and Foundation staff to raise more than $67 million. These efforts have helped enhance access to care, upgrade and expand facilities, grow available services, and support the long-term health of our region.
Patti Jackson-Gehris, president of UPMC in North Central Pa., shared, “Sherry’s compassionate leadership, coupled with long-standing relationships with donors and community leaders, are invaluable in supporting our mission ensuring that life changing medical services are local and accessible today and into the future. I am grateful for Sherry and her team’s work, and I look forward to seeing the Foundation continue to thrive under her leadership.”
“Since becoming involved with Susquehanna Health Foundation in 2008, I have witnessed Sherry’s vision for health care philanthropy in our region become a reality. Under her guidance and leadership, the Foundation has completed three successful capital campaigns; expanded and deepened relationships with donors, clinicians, UPMC in North Central Pa. staff, and the community; and significantly expanded the pool of permanent endowments held by the Foundation which will support high-quality health care in the region in perpetuity. Along with the entire Foundation board, I am very pleased to congratulate Sherry on her elevation to president of Susquehanna Health Foundation.”
