Volunteers Raise Over $135,000 For Pediatric Rehabilitation
Susquehanna Health Foundation, the philanthropic arm of UPMC in North Central Pa., has raised more than $135,000 for UPMC Pediatric Rehabilitation in Williamsport, thanks to a committee of volunteers chaired by Angie Alexander and Brian McClintock.
A fundraising goal of $100,000 was set to honor the 100th anniversary of this special mission service, which provides physical, occupational, feeding, and speech therapy services for children across north central Pennsylvania with diagnoses like cerebral palsy, down syndrome, spina bifida, and autism spectrum disorders. On average, over 150 children receive specialized and individualized care each week in the clinic and more than 500 additional children receive services during the school day, or early-intervention services in the home or at a daycare.
All funds raised will stay local to upgrade equipment, provide program enhancements, and build a permanent endowment to provide reliable funding to ensure each child’s needs are met today and in the future. The Pediatric Rehabilitation Fundraising Committee was supported by Heather Allison, Matthew Cramer, John Engel, Scott Lowery, Thomas Marnon, Marisa Rau, and Barry Stiger.
