Thanks to a generous donation from Clinton Country Club, 9 Irons, and BSC Mechanical to Susquehanna Health Foundation, Clinton County residents will soon have access to new lifesaving tools: PulsePoint Respond® and PulsePoint AED Registry® smartphone apps.

“I know our EMS responders are doing everything they can to care for the community, and I wanted to find a way to work with community leaders to support their efforts,” said Billy Edwards, co-owner, Clinton Country Club and BSC Mechanical. “I was made aware of this technology, and the work and conversations between UPMC and the County to try to bring it here – it seemed like a great opportunity to get involved. As a business leader and resident of Clinton County, I want to do what I can to help others, and I’m excited to see PulsePoint come to the area.”

PulsePoint Respond alerts subscribers to emergencies that occur in public, empowering everyday citizens to provide lifesaving assistance to victims of sudden cardiac arrest. The apps also provide users with the location of the nearest accessible AED. Clinton County resources and incidents will soon be available on the apps through a partnership between UPMC, Susquehanna Regional EMS, and the Clinton County Department of Public Safety.

“This donation has great potential to help save lives in Clinton County,” said Sherry Watts, president, Susquehanna Health Foundation. “Every minute matters in an emergency and trained bystanders can make an impact before EMS professionals arrive on scene, especially in rural communities like those in Clinton County. Having this technology helps connect trained responders and resources in the community to ensure those who wish to help are empowered to do so.”
